Gulya is in her late 40's, short blond hair, medium height, skinny, dressed nicely. Claimed that she is from Yfa (Russia), worked back there as a daycare teacher. Here in US she said that she worked as a live in for one family at two different periods of time. Family supposedly lived in Manhattan, russian mother and american father, she took care of a little girl. She said she left them because they wanted a nanny who spoke english plus she needed to go to Russia for some time.
She was very nice and calm and we were ready to hire her, we asked for the references, she texted us the name of the mother - Yana, name of the girl - Sylvia and Yana's phone #. We checked the phone # she provided via Facebook and it appeared that this number belonged to a russian lady named Anna Lazareva, who lives and works in Brooklyn and not married, it so happens that we have some mutual friends that knew her.We still called the number and asked for Yana, even though we already knew something is fishy, but we gave it a benefit of the doubt. She responded to the name Yana and all conversation she was saying how amazing Gulya is and there is not a single negative thing about her. In my experience, when i speak to references, people always mention everything, strong points, weaknesses, not in this case, glowing recommendation that sounded too fake. When we confronted her over the phone and asked if she is Anna Lazareva, she became immediately defensive and without anything started saying...no, no, no....denying, denying, denying. Needless to say, we never hired Gulya, she never called us back after that and never reached out.....even though we told her that we will hire her after checking the reference. I guess her fried let her know that we figured it out. I want to warn everyone that this lady is a liar and a great actress, if she lied about that, wait until she is taking care of your child and home.....When we posted about this on Russian Parents group, one lady recognized her phone # and said that earlier she left them stranded and never came to work after she was hired.

For future references, her phone # is 917-808-7419 and her friends # is 302-602-9372

Natalia Botnaru-58 years old from Kishenev, Moldova. Extreme thief. Stole periodically from us and was caught red-handed. She put knives in the kids playroom creating an unsafe environment for the kids and even went as far as stealing our iPad. Also, she left the kids by themselves in the house and went to hide to speak on the phone in her room, while the pool was open and kids were all alone. My daughter can't swim. Kids were yelling trying to grab her attention for 30minutes and they had to call us at work for us to come home. Completely irresponsible. When asked to leave the house, at first she refused then started screaming anti-Semitic slurs saying that she hates Jews like us and wishing that Hitler should have killed all the Jews. When she left, she put her soiled underwear in front of our house.

  • Elena 347-522-8448. A wonderful nanny looking for a full-time position in Brooklyn. Elena is exelent listener and very patient. She taught many things that I couldn't have done by myself. She is highly educated and has prior experience working with kids. She is an amazing cook. My son loved it very much. As a single parent, Elena has been with my son for almost four years. She has taught him a lot of throughout his years exploring the new world. With deep regret I'm moving to a different state and my son is going to Pre-K. Otherwise I would still employ Elena to continue sitting with my son.

Svetlana Tkalich and she is either in her late 40s or early 50s. She is on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/svetlana.tkalich?fref=ts
She was invited for an interview and I asked her to come back for a second interview so she could meet my husband and toddler. She asked me right away if we would pay her for the second interview and I told her no, she wasn't expected to do any work, just talk.
She left two references. One of the references was a disconnected number and the other went to a voice mail that was anonomous (didn't say name). I left numerous messages for the voice messages who she claimed was her previous employer that she worked at for several years. She mentioned she worked at several places for a week and would leave..
Second interview I let her know her reference never called back and we can not hire her without speaking to the person. She claimed the person would call me and never did. I don't believe there WAS a reference.
During the second interview, it became obvious that she had no idea how to care for children (she asked whether she was expected to change my toddlers diapers knowing she would be by herself for the full day). The first interview presented completely different than the second interview. Several times throughout the interview, she would ask for an increase in money we were offering and we kept saying this is what we have agreed to start a nanny and would give increases as time goes on. She also did some things that were strange like not give answers to my questions but instead redirect the conversation to something irrelevant. Also, she spent about the second half of the second interview discussing all the people she interviewed with who "offended her" by asking regular interview questions (like whether she would cook baby food). Like I had already mentioned, there seemed many jobs that she only worked for 1-2 weeks before she left. She was VERY strange! When I asked what activities she did with toddlers she just said they would play on the drums and that's it.
After the interview, I left her a VM thanking her for coming but we had decided to go with someone else. Many years later, our nanny had moved out fo the country and we were looking again. I saw she had poisted that she was looking for a job so I messeged her asking  if she was looking. I wanted to speak with her, thinking perhaps she would have references this time and maybe give her another chance with interview..
After this: She posted our entire PM conversation which consisted of several lines and my recent comment asking if she were working. She siad I was a "horrible employee" all over RPN because she had worked for me and we never paid her-- she NEVER worked for us; we NEVER hired her. She said we had hired her adn "then dissapeared" which was also a lie since we told her right away we DIDNT want her to work for us. She posted my private information including contact, all my professional pages which I keep seperate from my private facebook page out of privacy, security and safety. I tried PM her saying that she either confused me with someone else or that this basically never happened (again: never worked for us! No money ever owed) but she blocked me from being able to respond to the post-- just blasted all my personal contacts and information in a group.
She fabricated this story about how deceitful we were all over the group... when in reality all we did was tell her we are going with someone else which is any parents choice to make.
I still believe her references were fake. There were several opposing stories to her employment history which I think was also made up. Her past story about her life didn't make sense (past employment specifically) because she told several different renditions and there were gaps in employement. The way she took rejection was just horrendous and then blasting my personal information because she didn't like that we didn't pick her...
During the interview itself, she basically ignored our toddler and ddin't appear interested in any information concerning our wishes.. she JUST cared about how much we would pay her.
I would strongly advise against her. Don't even contact her. This is compeltely crazy behavior.

  • At Mazel he flourished. When we started Mazel I had no intention of keeping him past Pre-K, but now I cannot imagine him going to school anywhere else but Mazel. It's very warm environment that focuses on the whole child--his education (which is one of the top), social and emotional abilities.

Our wonderful nanny, Maria, is looking for a full-time job starting in September.

Maria has been with us for almost 4 years, ever since my daughter turned 3 months old (and my son turned 3.5). We did a rather thorough search when we were looking for a nanny and interviewed at least 10 different candidates. From the moment we saw Maria we knew we found what we were looking for. While all the other candidates started by asking about their compensation, transportation, and vacations, first thing Maria asked for was to see the baby. And that is how it’s been for the last 4 years – Maria’s first priority has always been our children. She was a wonderful support for us when my daughter was really small; helping us through all the difficult times, always ready to help with everything and anything. Maria has a wonderful cheerful and sunny disposition, always calm and quick to laugh, always in good spirits. She really helped our family to keep our sanity while raising two small children. As the kids got older, she kept finding new ways to keep them occupied, to help them develop. She is always ready to take them to classes, or after school programs. In fact, she found programs for kids in our library and was brining my daughter there even without my reminders. She has enormous amount of both patience and energy and can play with the kids for hours (more than I can). Whenever other parents see her, they always think she is a member of the family, because she is so engaged with the kids, instead of spending the time on the phone, as is often the case with babysitters. Now that both kids are in schools (preschool for one and elementary school for another) it is unfortunately time for us to let Maria go, however I think (and hope) she will stay a part of our family for years to come.

If you would like to speak with Maria, you can contact her at: mariahapchuk@gmail.com or 215-500-8850. If you would like to speak to me, feel free to contact me at lena@mamykina.com.

  • My 6yr old son finished ABC Daycare before going to the Big Apple Academy and absolutely loved it! It's a private home which was fully renovated and turned into a daycare. Relatively small, only has two groups (if I'm not mistaken,) but it's exactly why we loved it. Not to mention the owners are truly devoted to the children.

My family and I are leaving NYC and I am looking for a new home for our beloved nanny, Lyuda. She has been with us for years since our son was 4 months old and I returned to work. She is warm, caring, attentive and a self-starter; I could not juggle motherhood and a demanding career without her. She does so much for us and does it all with a smile. I would not part with her for the world if we were not moving. I am a native Russian speaker and my husband is American; her English is limited but she manages to communicate with my husband and my son's teachers with little difficulty. She is absolutely wonderful, and any family would be lucky to have her. For us, she has been like a member of our own. Please feel free to contact me with questions, and for further details. She is available beginning the last week of June.

My 4yr old child attended Gold Material Montessori. This week, she has been terminated from this private pre-school because I made a big STINK about discrimination due to the fact that my child's father is middle-eastern. The school owners are Russian. I had my last straw last week when my daughter was excluded from Father/Daughter dance while other girls were included and when confronted via email the school specifically stated the reason: "because your husband is not Russian, he wouldn't be able to learn from the Russian dance instructor". No other reason was provided in the email besides fact that my husband is NOT Russian. Mind you, the school's program is 100% in English and we were never told that there's a need for any parents to know Russian. After a week of email exchanges, we received a termination letter from school mentioning some bull&*() contract articles breached (such as 1x in two years being 45 seconds late. Yes, you read it right, 45 seconds. Only, we are not stupid. If this lateness was a problem, why weren't we terminated then?

IT WAS BLATANT DISCRIMINATION IN AN EDUCATIONAL SETTING.

This termination notice was given to us 3 months before my child's pre-school graduation and 1 month before my child's birthday party at school - with no notice whatsoever to us parents.

WARNING TO ALL: Administration - who speak broken English, and especially the daughter-in-law of owners - Varvara Radymushkina - run the daycare like they are in some Gestapo in USSR: ruthlessly and cruelly expelling a child from an educational setting, and with no regards to child's well being because a parent brings up concerns.

These people need to be taught that they are no longer in the USSR. That in USA this is not the way to treat parents, especially when they pay $1444/month. As a Montessori school, they should know that part of their accreditation is to set up a grievance system for a parent to at least appeal termination, especially when it's on such invalid reasons.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. TWO THUMBS DOWN. Would also like to mention, my close friend who suggested this day care to me voluntarily left the school a few months prior to what happened to us. Another parent also took out her child because she was unhappy.

And lastly, read Yelp reviews - the numerous NEGATIVE reviews should make it obvious that this is one school to RUN FROM. This is my personal opinion posted based on my personal experience.

I would like to recommend if you haven't and live in the Edison, NJ to Check out and Tour The Learning Experience.
We just started at TLE, But honestly we 1st toured this facility a couple years ago. We've been recommending them to everyone for years before we even registered ourselves. We liked them so much and they left a lasting impression. Our issues were financial for a while but in the end of the day it all worked out, and We are Glad our daughter now goes here, She as well is equally as excited and tells us she loves it there, and would not want to go back to her old school. Miss Bianca is Great, as is the entire staff, they all help our daughter to learn as well as have fun doing it. I will continue to recommend everyone looking for a daycare/school learning environment for their young children, They continue to impress us, as well as make us comfortable leaving our child in their care while we go off to work. The security is top notch, as is their edge in the technology department of facilities in the area. The facility is always so clean, and bright with colors as well. They always are showing off the children's work. Thank You for everything.

  • Sveta - 646-510-0217; Our former nanny who was with us since our son was 6 weeks old until we moved to NJ when he was 2yr 7mo is available for a full time live-out position in Brooklyn. She came recommended to us by a family where she had worked for 3 years until the girl she was taking care of went to daycare. She is Armenian and in her early 50s. She was completely in charge of our son's well being and the household while we were at work, and did a great job balancing baby activities with the house chores. She is very passionate, energetic, loves to be outside with the baby, great disciplinarian and a great help in every respect. While developing and entertaining our son, she was also helping out with cooking, laundry, ironing, keeping the house in order, etc. She was the best thing that ever happened to us and felt as if she was carrying for her own kids. Highly recommend her .

I had a horrible experience with Happy Planet Day care. My daughter who is 3 years old was mistreated by the owner of the daycare - Irene.
She claimed that my daughter was autistic which is a complete lie. My daughter was praised by several teachers She left her on the potty all day, even when children were outside. My daughter would come home with red butt and now when she sees a potty she cries. She was also very rude to my mother, who came to pick up the child. She also put on a rubber gloves to take her hand and to take her out.
I am just grateful, that my daughter only three and doesn't understand that she was bullied by an adult who supposed to take care of her.

Not happy with Dr. Sorkin I guess he got greedy and lazy over the years. He doesn’t pay attention to his patients as much as he use to when he just started. Dr. Sorking is always late or never in when you need him. Not a great Idea to deliver with him. Wouldn’t recommend and not going back.

My daughter has been enrolled in this school since she was 3 years old - two years later, we are so glad about our decision to send her here! We were on the waiting list for Stepping Stones, then a spot opened up at Happy Day where my daughter's best friend was already enrolled for a few months, and so we decided to give it a try. What I like about this school is their approach to childcare - kids are treated with great care, there is an emphasis on education and good behavior. It's a mixed age program which I was concerned with at first, but now appreciate the benefits of little kids interacting with the older ones, and vice-versa. It teaches empathy, leadership and they start appreciating diversity of age, skills, etc., which is great. In June, Clara puts on a graduation ceremony concert, where the 5 year old kids who are progressing to Kindergarten, recite poems and sing songs. It is AMAZING to see them! And we've also been fortunate to benefit from the Gifted & Talented Test preparation, which kept us on or toes while our daughter learned everything from dinosaurs and planets, to addition and subtraction. All at the age of 4. Now that she is graduating and her little sister is almost 3, we plan to stay with this school. It's been a great experience for us, and I would recommend Happy Day to other parents without any hesitation.

My daughter has been going to Happy Day since she was a year and 8 months, she's now almost 5.  I can't tell how how happy I am that I chose this Day Care over others in my area.  My daughter gets home cooked meals, nap time, clean toys to play with and amazing teachers.  My daughter has blossomed over the past few years.  Clara along with her staff have helped my daughter develop and grow into such a smart little girl.  They have prepped her for school more than anyone I know!  I'm sure it will be a sad day when my little girl says good bye and goes to school.  I know I will miss them terribly.  I love Happy Day!

I certainly consider Rabbi Nechemia Markovits of USAmohel.com (347) 600-8800 among the most experienced and technically superb senior Mohels in the United States.
On the basis of viewing Rabbi Markovits circumcision technique, he is the master who has learned from the masters.
If we may be of any further assistance in discussing the matter of circumcision and Brit Milah, our personal experience with Rabbi Nechemia Markovits allows us to highly recommend him to you for the performance of circumcision (Brit Milah).
We had the merit of using Rabbi Markovits as the Mohel for our four sons ages 8-days to 19 years old and we thank him greatly.

  • As promised earlier, here's an update on the party we had last week. The place was just awesome, very well and tastefully done and a party floor to die for. My daughter and 14 of her friends had a birthday party last week and they sure did enjoy the kids spa, immaculate dining area with activities and the mind blowing dance area, one has to see it to believe.

This place is very new and highly recommended for kids parties for age 3-11. We had at least 3 bookings from our party for future dates. They are also having an all day affair on Dec 21st for Christmas.

The place is Kidz Lounge, 17 Maplewood Place, Staten Island , NY 10306.

  • Sometimes most of the people face these type of problems at the time of taking care of the baby and the problem created so many problem for them.  At the time of caring of the baby, women got the problem like the back pain or any other injury so most of the women use the ice to recovery from the injury. A regular and proper exercise acn cure these type of problems.

  • Heard about this newly opened place Kidz-Lounge in Staten Island from a friend who had her daughters 6th Birthday party here. Supposedly, the kids could not have enough of it and wanted to come back again. With my daughters birthday in a couple of weeks I decided to check out the place myself yesterday and was floored to see a separate spa area and a dance floor, all this while a party was going on. The kids sure were having a wonderful time and I can't wait to see my daughter and her friends enjoy the place.
Apparently this place is for boys and girls and closer for someone like me coming from Brooklyn too. The prices are perfect for all that's on offer, I have done quite a few parties in the last few years, this place looks a cut above the rest.
More updates after the party !

Lena, full name is Olena Bova, 47, from Ukraine.  Worked for us for 1 month.  Smokes a lot, lies (I bought her patches since she told me that she would love to stop smoking.  She lied and never used them).  Called us Sunday to tell that she is going back to Ukraine. When asked to come for 1 more day- agreed to come on Monday-never showed up. When I called, she hung up.

  • I just found this place when at a birthday party, Plaster Galaxy in Brooklyn, NY (Ave. Y) location.
They have a large selection of plaster crafts that can be painted by both kids and adults.
It's great fun for the whole family. When there we saw many families sitting and painting.
They also have Sand Art that could be good for younger kids. Check it out.

  • Another great place for parties is Plaster Galaxy in Brooklyn, N.Y. (Ave. Y) location.
I was there at a recent party and the kids had a blast.
Everything was run very smoothly, with efficient and friendly staff.
Great for all ages, they have a large selection of plaster crafts, open all week and now
have Sand Art as well. I found both their Birthday package prices and the open painting
prices pretty affordable. Go and enjoy!

  • My live-in nanny will no longer be needed as soon as my youngest son starts daycare. Farida has been living with us for a year and a half. She is hard working, quiet, responsible and takes good care of my two kids. One goes to daycare full time so she mainly takes care of my youngest son. She also cleans, cooks and does loundry. Never complaints, never raises her voice or hands on my kids. If you are looking for a trustworthy nanny, please give her a call.

Please place Tanya 347-322-2687 on black list, I hired her and had a negative experience, she is very fake, pretends to be good and caring but just takes care of her own problems all the time, has too much baggage, kept asking to prepay her salary, borrow money, was constantly complaing about how hard it is to work with my 1 child, and kept asking for unreasonable raises. on a playground didn't watch the kid, kept talking to other nannies as a result kid came back with scratches, bruises, always took large toys to the park with her (dolls, strollers, bikes) and kept losing them telling me they got stolen. I wouldnt recommend her, please take her OUT OF THIS RECOMMENDED LIST

  • This is a comment about Lilia Kostyukovsky, who I feel was unfairly placed in this "blacklist". Lilia is an amazing nanny, always attentive, warm, and dedicated. On top of that, she is extremely well-educated, and incredibly well-versed in Russian children's songs and poems. It is possible that this family and she might have had a misunderstanding (I, for one, cannot even imagine her doing the things she is being accused of), but it seems to me cruel to blacklist her and jeopardize her future work opportunities, just based on a review of one anonymous person.

The cake was very lovely, well decorated, but all products especially for the CHILDREN must be FRESH, this was not the case by Masters Sweet. Biscuits were prepared fro a while, you could even taste it, and the cream was super bold. Better more fresh fruits, instead of high-calorie cream. nonono

  • I don't know her last name because she never showed up to work and I never made a copy of her documents. She goes by Oselia but her legal name is much longer, she is either from Kirgistan or Kazakhstan. She's very pleasant, has perfect Russian and good English, claims to know how to drive, claims to have a medical degree from back home, claims to be in the US for about 3 yrs now, claims to have worked with 2 kids in CA. Lol, an absolutely perfect candidate for our needs. One little problem.... after confirming her start date a number of times, she simply fell off the face of the Earth, never contact the agency (Igor from Aist) and never called/texted me. Beware. Feel free to call me at (917) 446-6320. Laura

I was looking for a day care and this one was recommended to me by a friend. I thought it might fit us but the Owner behaved VERY unprofessionally. Be aware! You would want people you trust your child with to think about children first but these people think about their well off being first. A perfect example of a very typical Russian approach to business.

Nina Tisserand - originally from Latvia - gave our son a herpetic infection under the eye that he will be plagued with for the rest of his life. Just search for herpetic eye infection in google images and see how awful it is. It came from cold sores (oral Herpes) she had around her mouth and our doctor recommended we fire her immediately because it was due to either inappropriate contact or her not keeping proper hygiene. On retrospect, she was too negatively physical with our son and combined with a bad temper is dangerous and should not be working with children.

Had an interview set up with a nanny, LARISA 38 years old from Moldovia. Never showed up, didn't call. On top of it all gave out my cell phone number to different agencies. Never asked my permission, just gave out the number. When I called her to confront , she said it might have been her friend. Was very rude. One would think she would apologize, no remorse whatsoever.

Sveta, age 50( 51 in August) I had this nanny for 10 month, her job description was to cook for the baby, watch the baby and do laundry.. In the beginning she was working out well until recently she started having some trouble at home and her work started slacking, she stopped cooking for the baby and would just make her pasta everyday, when I would ask her to make soup, her response was I forgot to defrost the meat, i will make it the next day and it would go on like this until me or my mother made soup. She is constantly on the phone or Skype chatting with her relatives, and TV is constantly on. She stopped reading to the baby as I requested , she would give the baby a bunch of toys and would watch TV as the baby played.  When I  confronted her about these issues she would blame everything on her family problems and she said she would change. I constantly had to remind her to change the baby diaper, I would  come from work and  most of the time had a full diaper. But this is not the reason she was fired. The  last incident was when she was angry about something and i believe took our her anger on my daughter (23m) she pulled her by the arm dragged her across the room and made her fall in the process while yelling at her. That was grounds for immediate termination. She currelty resides with her husband and friend in Hackenstown NJ. She is medium bulit with short blond hair. She has two daughters in Russian. I beleive her last name is Ivanova. If anyone need more info, please contact me.

Oksana from ukraine. Tall, in her 40s, gray hair, dark eyes. has a teenage daughter back home. Has no reference because she lost the number. Said she lost it when she went back to Ukraine to get divorced two years ago. I was desperate for help at the time because my husband was about to leave on a business trip for two weeks and I didn't want to be home alone with my twin infants. Quickly realized that she lied about having experience with babies when she she didn't know how to change a diaper and it took her 15 minutes to do it. I was willing to overlook small issues because I was home all the time to monitor things.

She had really strange habits at night such as doing her laundry at 2am and running the shower, bathtub and toilet for very long periods of time also in the late hours (after 11pm). On January 2nd I left her with the kids while I ran to take care of some errands. Checked in on the nanny can while I was out of the house and saw her sleeping on the couch while my 1yr old twins were running around. I called to wake her up and quickly started on my way home. I did t tell her I saw her sleeping because I was scared since she was alone with my kids. So she tells me how she is playing with them and when I get off the phone laid right back down and went to sleep again. Then my husband called the house (I was watching on baby cam as I drove) and she told him how they were playing but as soon as she hung up on him she went right back to sleep.

When we fired her she said she was sleepy because she stayed up too late on New Year's Eve (we gave her all of New Year's Day off). She also refused to return clothing to me that I had lent her saying that she packed them already. When I asked her to open her suitcase and give them to me she refused and told me that I should just deduct from her salary the cost of the clothes or to have someone come to Brighton to pick them up.

Interviewed her as well. Seemed decent enough I the interview but we told her that she absolutely needed to provide a reference. She told me that she didn't have the number from her previous employer and that she needed to contact the neighbor of her employer to get the number. Never got back to us and when we called to inquire as to her references, she told us she wasn't interested in the position anymore. To me it seemed that she didn't have any references.

this has been by far the best daycare center. this daycare is highly recommended to parents who want there kids well taken care of fed, well spoken too overall in all aspects. the children can also take advantage in the language spoken and as a parent instead of judging and thinking it is a disadvantage on learning another language which is russian think of this as being a plus... although i don't understand the language i am so happy that my kids now are able to understand at at times say some words to me which has now motivated me to learn russian. they have all the materials needed to have the children learn, the curriculum is based on the children's age in grad learning.

Again i cant say anything negative about this daycare they have a friendly and respectful staff and go about teaching the children in the center respect and all positive attitude.

i would mostly love to thank the very helpful ms.Helen without her all this wouldn't be occurring she is on top of all that's needed for this center and without her and of course the staff this would not be the ABC little star daycare that it is today!!!

my kids now 8 and 5 still ask me if they can return :( unfortunately not but till then we will definitely keep in touch they are now like family
    thank you
    abc little star

Marianna Alladine. I have to write about this day care - I am so happy that my daughter in good hands - such a wonderful place!!! - I wound wish for nicer nannies for my baby - she is only 3 and she already sings in 2 languages and read me poems, which she learned there - nice big play room and backyard playground; special thanks to miss Helen - thank you for making this great place affordable for a single working mom - like me

Excellent Care. I really like this day care. My younger daughter attends it currently. I have seen so far 4 different daycare centers between my 2 daughters, so I definitely have some basis for comparison. My daughter is in the smallest group, they start from 6 months +. I love the teachers there. They're very caring and upfront and honest if they have issues or concerns, which I love because you have to keep the communication lines open.

Only one "con" is that the backyard can be a little chilly because of lack of sunlight in the back of the building. So make sure to bring something extra for your baby to wear on the days that they will be going out. I hope this helps.

Excellent Daycare and Preschool. Our daughter has been in this dc since she was 1.5 yo and is now 3.5 yo. This is a wonderful, supportive, loving and learning environment. Each day our child comes home happy, well fed, rested, signing songs and is already starting to read. They teach art, poetry, musicianship, mathematics and english language arts and do so in a fun and engaging manner. The caretakers and teachers are warm and caring and seem to have genuine affection for the children in their care. Each morning I must kiss our daughter before the door opens because she shoots through the door with barely a glance back. We find ourselves very fortunate to have such wonderful care for our child.

Katerina Metlitskaya, from Herson, Ukraine, born in 1953 per passport. Interviews very well, agrees to everything. Showed up for interview in mink coat and with designer bag. Very well taken care of, white bleached hair in ponytail. Lied about recommendations and experience. Another person who interviewed her a week before, heard a totally different experience story. Seems like she is adjusting her experience based on employer needs. Also, heard from another family who had her for a week, that a few days into the job, she becomes very demanding about food ( she only eats this brand of cottage cheese, not that), conditions, etc.

Valentina, from Minsk, 54 y old. Cell 347-737-5702. Worked for a family in Wayne NJ for 1.5 years with a boy. They were happy with her and she is using them as a recommendation. However, she was since fired from 2 other families, since she seemed to develop some paranoid features. She complained to families that she felt someone was following her when she took the baby outside. She did not like when family did not give her detailed report on where they are going.. She also said she heard some voices.. Beware, she sounds REALLY nice on the phone, very polite and sweet and interviews well.

Hi all. I am really sorry that you have such bad experience with nannies. It's awful and scary when the person who takes care of your children smokes pot or drinks or treats your kids wrong way. Yes, of course, that is totally unacceptable.
But the reason I decided to post this is that I had a feeling that this only happens to us, Russian parents. When I told my american friends about this least they were totally shocked about how many nannies we blacklisted here, and when the read the whole thing almost everyone came to the same conclusion. I actually only discovered it last week.
And yes, I think it's true. Let's face it: most of us don't treat our nannies as people, most of us don't think about how much work can actually a normal human being can physically get done, we totally dump all housework and kids on our nannies and complain that they are lazy if we see them sitting on the couch for five minutes. Fortunately, I have been very lucky with my nanny. She is the sweetest kindest woman in the whole wide world, but I am realizing that it is two way street, if you are not nice to people you get it in return. I respect her time, her labor and guess what?! We are not people who makes a lot of money, but saving on child care so desperately is just the most stupid idea, because you get what you pay for. You want you and your kids be happy? Make your nanny happy. Draw the line between what she is supposed to do around the house and what she should not. If I am Rudd to my nanny I know I will be getting replies like "cho" from her, like one of the black listed nannies did. If she is supposed to work till 6pm I need to be home by then and have my shoes off at 6:01 the latest and she has every right to be out of the house by 6:02, notated weather my baby is crying or not, if I need her to stay late I will ask her and I am sure she will be happy to stay, if she can. Again, because she feels the same energy coming from me, if she can not stay, I understand, because she has her own life and I respect that. I will go out there and get someone else to babysit, because it's her time and I have no right to demand from her to stay while she needs to do her own thing. I know a lot of Russian families with Nannie/housekeeper/ cooks and most of the treat those people like slaves. If you hire someone in her 60s(while you have doubts she is actually in 70s and want her cook, clean, babysit and pay them $450, I am sorry but what do you expect? Yes, that person will be stuck with you for a while, because has no choice, but at some point they will find the way out by leaving a note and a key and disappearing. Many of us still don't want to admit we are not the only ones who likes to be wealthy and enjoy life. Nannies are people too and they have tendency to improve their lives and are not going to eork for you for $8 per our fof the rest of their lives.
I used to be a nanny myself and I went through all that, but then married very nice American man and I employ people myself but I will never treat employees the way some people treated me in the past.
The mom from this site who changed 22 nannies in 20 months... Sorry, she has a problem. It's not those nannies, who she treats like slaves, she must be looking for the reason in herself.
So maybe it's time to realize and change things, TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WANT YO BE TREATED, That's when you will be happy.

Larisa Zhukova, 41, 5’6” Red cheeks, straight black hair. Said that she worked in Kiev, Ukraine, as a teacher - but has rather bad grammar.

Our nanny was hired as a live-in through an agent. References seemed to check out, but in retrospect were fake (one in Atlanta, one in Southampton, NY). She worked for us for 6 weeks and and did her work quickly, trying to please. She told us that she has a husband and an 11 year old son in Kiev, but would leave and stay with a "male friend" overnight for the weekneds. She would also disappear occasionally for 30 min to an hour in the evening, but after excusing herself so we paid no mind to it. For the past two weeks, we have been noticing that our nanny has been acting increasingly very erratically. She would disappear in the evening for 20-30 minutes, then come back and would stagger about, eyes looked glassy and she had difficulty following instructions (would show up in baby’s room after we told her she was done for the night, go up/down stairs aimlessly). It really became noticeable in the past two days and yesterday night, it all came to a close. When I came home late last night, my wife told me that she was very concerned with the way our nanny was acting. She noticed that Larisa was slurring her words, walking with a staggering gait, was not able to follow simple requests - ie my wife asked her to bring the formula upstairs and she brought something completely different, was going halfway up the flight of stairs than would go back down - aimlessly, would not make eye contact). We thought it was very odd and I confronted her by fist telling her we needed to talk. As we sat down in my very well-lit living room, I noticed that her pupils were dilated like platters, she would pace and then sit down without provocation: I realized that she was high as a kite! I told her that we were concerned about how she was acting, and first she was denying that she was on anything, but at the same time was not coherent in her answers. She then proceeded to tell me that she was drunk - "prosto nabuhalas'" - but I did not smell alcohol on her breath at all, and told her I thought she was high on drugs. Asked her to go back to her room and told her that we did not want her to go to the baby as of now. She said she would but instead proceeded up the stairs to go to the baby’s room instead, forcing me to bar her way. After that, I didn't feel safe with her in the house and didn't want to deal with her when she is withdrawal from whatever she was on. We gave her part week's salary and asked that she leave immediately, to stay with a friend or in a motel - since we did not want her in the house in the state she was in. At first she would not leave, but I threatened to call the cops. She left the house but hung around in the driveway instead of leaving and tried to come back later after we presumably were asleep, but I changed the door codes and told her in no uncertain terms if she does not leave the property I will call the police. When fixing her closet door some weeks ago, I saw that she had a real Samurai sword in her closet, which was alarming and which I took and hid after she left. The bottom line: glad we were able to catch this before she was able to do any real harm, but now we're in a pinch... our parents will help in the meantime but we'll need to find a new nanny pretty quickly. I am sure she is looking for a new family as I type this, so would like to sound a word of warning to anybody who is considering hiring her to steer clear of her.

last year they had a wonderful program. not no more they dont have any of the good teachers left. I was so disappointed to see that mrs joan and mrs kelly are no longer there. my child no longer goes there. i tried to keep my son in pre-k with the new teacher but i was NOT happy at all.
there is nothing left there. there was only good teachers and the office management is horrible. they are very cold and only care about themselfs. I want my child to be taking care of and i want to feel easy where my child is while i work.

  • My son is currently attending this daycare and I have to say I am so happy with everything there! He is an extremely picky eater and I was worried he wasn't going to eat when he would start daycare, but he loves it, the education is excellent. I absolutely love the teachers there they are strict which my son needs but at the same time very caring. Some parents say being strict is not good for the child but I think it is a good way to prepare them from future schooling. It will make his life easier when he goes to school. The teacher always lets me know if she concerned about something about my child healthwise or behavior. He loves going there everyday and I know that he is in good hands the entire day by the teacher and staff.

I love this daycare and I don't think there is any daycare comparable on Staten Island.

  • Amother

NATALIA GAVRUSENCO from Moldova, Date of Birth: 11/27/1958. She is a tall, large woman and lives somewhere on Brighton Beach, and has a daughter that is around 27 years old. She worked for us on Staten Island and took care of my daughter for about 5 months.
Our first impression of her was that she was God sent – caring, loving, experienced- a perfect nanny for our little girl. She was also a Christian, and I figured that a believer in God, could not possibly do any harm to a baby.
However, as the time passed, she got progressively lazy and my husband and I caught her in a lie couple of times. I started asking around and people have not seen her at the playground she claimed she took our baby to every day. We installed couple of hidden cameras throughout a house. Needless to say, we were in a state of shock for couple hours when we saw what was really going on. She did not take our daughter outside as she was told to, she left her unattended for hours in her room, with the doors closed, while our daughter was crying and calling for her. When he confronted her she had the audacity to deny everything, stating that it must have been a misunderstanding. When we told her about the cameras, she cursed us out, packed her stuff and left right away. The next day we found out that she also stole a couple of things while packing.
We got lucky that she was not very smart, and could not even lie well.

3 month ago i fired a babysitter named mamura because i noticed that she was rough with my kids, showed no emotions, and was just miserable person, and a dumbass. she looked like she wasnt motherly, although she has 3 daughters. i knew she had to go after getting my 1 month old sons fingers pinched by the straps on the bouncer, by mistake, but showed absolutely no pity, guilt, remorse for this poor thing who was crying uncontrollably. she didnt even hug him or pretend to care. That was so odd for me to see that a woman was so emotionless to newborns like that...i didnt leave her for 6 days that she was with us and if it wasnt for sandy i would have kicked her out that day. I was just wondering if its her? She is 52 years old, uzbeki, claims she was a lawyer back in her coutry ( but i doubt it..they all lie)and says that her husband left her because she gave birth to daughters, instead of sons.

I saw the Youtube video before it went viral, and i just couldnt believe my own eyes what i saw. She is a monster who needs to be apprehended, and send back to her country to rot. meantime, I hope your sunshine is doing well, and you and your husband find justice and peace. May you, your children or any child ever experience anything like this ever again.

  • Nina Shikalova, DOB 11/9/55 from Russia (town called Tula)
Worked as a live-in nanny watching my 1 year old for 6 months. Always went to different playgrounds in our area and I could never find them. Following multiple suspicions of her taking my child elsewhere when she was suppose to be at a playground, tracked and followed her. Turned out she has been taking my kid twice a day to see a “friend” on a regular basis in a building on Brighton. I never learned exactly what/who my child has been exposed to for 6 months due to the fact that I caught her the day of the Sandy hurricane and had no choice but to confront her. She had prepared lies for me about exactly where they were and what they have been doing for hours (including names of kids, other nannies, mothers, on and on); never was at any of the playgrounds. When I found her on Brighton lied about where she was and what they were doing while I was looking at her from across the street; then proceeded to RUN to the playground as I said I will be meeting them there in 10 minutes.

Also lied about other things, i.e. lost her copy of the house keys and when I gave her my keys to copy made several copies instead of one and when she accidentally left another copy laying around made up a very elaborate story of how this key is from her storage facility in Russia, etc.

  • My son is now 30 month old. In the last 22 month since going back to work we changed close to 20 nannies. Dont misunderstand me some were great and we had for six month and nine month and four month but then their visas expire and they leave back to their countries. But between these great nannies we had some real phsycos. One Gavhar Tashkent claimed to have child experience and would leave my son 9 month on the changing table unattended. Did not understand basic child safety. The other by name Shoira Samarkand claimed to know everything but did not understand or knew anything. Then we had this Lena person from Dnepropetrovsk and my son was teething 10 month at that time she would cover his whole crib with blankets and let him bounce and cry from pain all day in his crib while she slept with pillow on her head. Then we had this lady name Svetlana from Belarus she is from Pennsilvania and she was wierd did not talk to us and when we gave her her salary just informed us about leaving. Then we had a twenty year old Kristina from Ukraine and she was getting upset at toddler for not listening to her and would always be late from her days off and constantly on the phone. Then we had Maya from Tadjikistan who was a doctor and 50 y/o. Two days into it she started to complaine about her not feeling good and high blood pressure and headaches and was in her room sleeping most of the time and wanted for me to write her prescription for blood pressure medications I had to hide all meds in my house. Then we had our worst nanny experience ever we got this lady from Sofia agency her name was Umedia Kamarova from samarkand her father is Ttheuzuvchi Kamarzoda the writer. She was telling us horrible stories how she was beaten by her husband and mother in law and raped by her brother in law. Her face was full of burns from her husbands lover spraying her with acid. She told us that she needed one week to go back to her country to extend her visa and get a divorce and my husband took a vacation to cover her absence and when she left we realized that we were missing a lot of things and she also borrowed suitcases and things for the trip. She lied to us and scamed us out of money and things and never came back. when we called the agency Sofia she was not helpful at all. The same agency then offerd us another lady Gulchehra Rustamova 41y/o from Samarkand who came here to make money in order to buy her husband medications to treat hepatitis C. was walking around my house like at the funeral would not speak or interact with my son or us. Then we had a lady Ayzada Nurlanova who took a job and while looking for better deals. Could not handle my son at all when he had fever she not call me and was ignnoring it and when I told her to give him medicine could not do so. After trying and having few other disasters I decided to stay home with my son.
Now about russian agencies they do not take any responsibility for placing these women into out houses and our families. There is no background checks and if it does not work out they still get paid their fee and it is better for them the more nannies you go through more money they get. So my husband and I learned and came up with few rules of our own.
    1. We hold or make a copy of their passport and visa
2.We hold two weeks salary as a deposit for two weeks notice they need to give us before they leave. if they leave in less then a month they dont get it back.
3.That deposit goes before the agency fee.
    4. Always take a picture of the nanny.
    5. We have cameras in our house recording at all times. if you dont have cameras tell them that you do.
    6. Write a contract with their responsibilities and things that you r and r not responsible for ( get hurt, medical treatment, suing house insurance) and make the agency sigh it also.
These women can be drug addicts, child malesters, abusers, carry diseases, liers and scamers and we open our lives, houses and families to them. The agencies need to be more responsible on doing background checks and medical checks and skill qualification before placings these women into our families, and if something goes wrong they need to be held responsible too.
Some of the agencies to stay away from:
    bridge to success
    nanny
    prestige
    sofia
    anna
and definatly stay away from these names:
    Umedia Kamarova
    Ayzada Nurlanova
    Gulchehra Rustamova

    Beware of Ella Barkhova.
Lied about her age (is actually 72), told us she was 62. Somewhat heavy set, fake blond color hair. Lazy, sloppy, depressed....list goes on. My nanny cam caught her yelling and Cursing (really badly, with such anger) at my 13 month old bby! She never intercated with her, even though she says she did every day! Camera caught her telling the bby to play by herself while she ate her lunch for nearly two hours! Seemed so nice and willing to do anything at first...beware. Not sure, but I think the audio in the nanny cam sounded like she spanked her too!! From Tanya and Mila agency in brooklyn.

Yevgenia (Zhenia) Smertina 29 from Russia. Was great for 3m and then took a day off and decided not to come back for 4 days without explanations. Finally, texted and quilt, picked up her things and asked for her job back two days later and bagged for forgiveness, then didn't sow up and texted in the evening apologizing and saying she got a new job. 3 Weeks later she started calling my mother telling her that she never got a new job and that she misses our family asking for her job again. When she finally agreed on a time to meet with my mother, she never showed up again. I think she is mentally unstable

Sveta/Sviya Khaimova....My nightmare!!! In her 50s around 5'7 in height, presents herself as a religious Jew. I believe she is from, dushanbe, tadzhikistan (I might be wrong). She worked with my then, 2 year old and 3year old boys. She verbally abused them, pulled them by their hair to make them listen to her. Spanked them, left kitchen knives in their presence, without her in the room . Walked across the room while holding my 2 year old by his hair in attempt to put his hair in a pony tail, whole he was screaming/ crying that it hurts. I had cameras at home, but did not bother to check because she was highly recommended by very close people. One day I decided to see how the video cameras work. I was in shock. We fired her. Did the police report but apparently what she did was not enough to even arrest her. My children were horrified by her. They still remember her with anger.

  • After seeing two previous gynecologists who didn’t examine me for my symptoms I was suffering with. I went to see Dr Sorkin at Dr Leonid Sorkin’s Center for Women’s Health that is in Brooklyn. He found the problem after one examination, treated my endometriosis and successfully removed all it. When it’s time for children he will definitely be the one I will be going to. Very calm to deal with. My first couple of visits felt a little awkward, but was always professional. He does give you comfort and security. Hi has been my ob/gyn for over 6 years now and I’ve always been happy with him and a pleasure to talk to.

MAMURA NASIROVA, 52 YEARS OLD FROM TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN:HORROR OF OUR LIVES
she worked for us for 3 months from day one every single day she was annoying us to drive her to the stores to do shopping for her kids and annoyed about ordering stuff for her on the internet. My 17 month old son was very scared of her for no reason and I was home full time and didnt see anything wrong until one day when I took my doughter to dance class which is across the street from my house and while there decided to watch the cameras from the ipad, 3 minutes into watching the nany (mamura nasirova) sat down on the floor in the living room next to my 5 month old baby which was in the bouncer and tried to feed her when the baby refused to eat she started slaping her on each cheek to the point that the babys head was flying from one side to another and after slapping she punched her with a fist in the babys face and hit her legs. when we showed her a video she did not show any emotion at all and simply said " but i love her".

SHE IS A MONSTER, LIAR, ANIMAL. I DONT THINK THERE IS ANY WORDS TO DESCRIBE HER!!!WHAT KIND A PERSON WOULD BE HITTING LIKE THAT A 5 MONTH OLD CHILD!!!!! BE CAREFULL!!!!!!

  • Dr Sorkin looked after me during my second pregnancy at his Brooklyn office - Dr. Leonid Sorkin’s Center for Women’s Health and delivered a boy at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. He was kind, caring and quick to act upon any enquiry I made with extra blood tests, ultrasound, etc. His care extended after delivery where he visited me during the hospital stay. Leonid is an amazing, thoughtful and caring human being who really takes an interest in you and makes you feel like you are in good hands even when you know he has many other women under his care! He is a patient and a very knowledgeable OBGYN who knows his responsibilities very well! Two thumbs up and highly recommended.

Tamara Avetyan, 64 years old (says 60), tel (347)530-9406 - from Armenia, worked for us as a live-in for 1 month, then we fired her. She lied about her age (told us 60 but was at least 64, according to the copy of the passport which she finally showed us, but which might have been fabricated). She gave us a false reference (we later found out the real name of her previous employer). Claims to have been a math teacher and "zavuch" but most likely that's a lie too - she could not manage to remember my name and always called me my daughter's name instead.
She was extremely lazy, constantly spoke on the phone in Armenian, failed to follow our directions, but what really did it for us was that one time I caught her actively trying to put my 1.5 year-old to sleep hungry and in a dirty diaper (with poop). When I saw this and told her to get the baby out of the stroller and feed her first, she started begging me to leave because the baby "almost fell asleep". After giving her the same order 4 times I took the baby out myself. At that point Tamara got very angry and started screaming at me and arguing with me. Needless to say, we threw her out the next day. Later we learned that her previous family threw her out without even letting her come back and pack her things. They packed her things for her and told her to not show up and send car service to pick up her stuff. Not sure exactly what she did there. STAY AWAY FROM TAMARA AVETYAN!
Just a little addition: she is so out of it that after we fired her she called us on our ad placed in a newspaper looking for a job...

Hello. just wanted to find out if your babysitter is still available. thank you

Babysitter's name was Alla Panasenko (45 years old). She was our live-in for 5 months. Her only responsibility was to take care of the baby. She made the house extremely dirty and disorganized even though we have a cleaning lady come once a week. Several things mysteriously disappeared while she was with us, including a laptop, but she swore that it wasn't her. We had some contractors doing work in our house during that time and gave her the benefit of the doubt.

She was extremely lazy, spent most days playing cards or talking on the phone. The neighbors told me that they saw her smoke around the baby, but she denied it. Alla refused to follow instructions and only wanted to do things her way. After the last time when I told her that I wanted her to do certain things with the baby during the day, I came home from work to her waiting for me in the living room with her bags packed, waiting for me to apologize and threatening to leave. This was the last straw and I threw her out. We later found out that she's been walking around talking behind our backs about how much she hates us and cursing our family. Also beware, as she does not give real references and instead asks her friends to pretend. DO NOT HIRE HER!!!

After seeing 5 Gynecologists in a 2 years period, I went to Dr. Leonid Sorkin’s Center for Women’s Health in NYC and Dr. Sorkin was the only doctor who diagnosed my endometriosis on the first appointment. After having him as my GYN for 7 years I opted to have him as my OB. I am now pregnant (naturally) with my first baby and he has been with me all the way. He is very knowledgeable and straight down the line. He is also very positive and will answer any questions you ask him. And I have asked him many about my pregnancy and he has always clarified any concerns I may have, not only with my pregnancy but also with my endometriosis. Dr. Sorkin is always contactable and easy to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to anyone.

I have been seeing Dr Sorkin for a few years and he is the best of the best OBGYN in Brooklyn, NYC. Amazing knowledge and nothing is too hard. Dr Sorkin investigated my symptoms (I have had issues with my period for a while) and finally diagnosed me after many doctors failed to do so. Clinical/reception staff at Dr. Leonid Sorkin’s Center for Women’s Health also deserves strong ratings for their ability to meet patient needs with tact and respect. Very happy to highly recommend them to my family and friends.

A great babysitter available in Brooklyn. She has been with me for 3 and a half years my child is going to day care. She is a caring, hardworking and reliable babysitter. I knew when my child was in her care I had nothing to worry about. She is very patient and has great judgement. She started with us when he was 3 month old. She is great with babies and toddlers. My son could recite poems and sing songs thanks to her. She is available full-time on Live-out basis.

I have been under care of Dr Leonid Sorkin for all my pregnancy and gynecological needs and have found him to be a wonderful, expert and caring doctor. Now my two youngest sisters have had their babies under his care and he looks after their gynecological needs as well. In all that time he has been contactable 24/7 for emergencies. We are truly grateful for all he has done over the years for our family's obstetric and gynecological health. I unreservedly recommend Dr Leonid Sorkin’s Center for Women’s Health located in Brooklyn, NY because he is trustworthy, caring and professional with a wealth of knowledge that cannot compare.

My sons are in the third and fourth grades at HLA. I am extremely pleased with the the high scholastic standards as well as the creative and nurturing environment. The school leadership is an excellent team of professionals who strive to provide the best education for the children of HLA. The curriculum is challenging and multi-faceted and the students truly benefit. I feel very fortunate to have enrolled my children at this wonderful school.

I am very happy with this school. My son has been there for 2 years now and I feel like its a family. The teachers and kids all know each other and care about each other. They teach children the basics; math, letters, reading, etc...but also dance and music and arts /crafts.

The food is made fresh every single day.

I am the relative of one of the children who attended steps to success 2 and a former assistant who has to say that in terms of cleanliness they would rank a 5 plus, but this is where it ends. It is an emotionally TOXIC environment for children who attend it. Yes the teachers teach them the foundations for life such as the alphabet and so on , but it is done in such a rigid manner. The children are treated like robots and the disciplining of children is done in a demeaning manner. One assistant teachergrabbed a little girl by the arm and shoved her into another classroom with a look of severe hatred towards her while looking down on her and slammed the door in her face. Children can be sensitive creatures and this kind of treatment will mess them up emotionally for life. No wonder children cry when they are sent here.

  • Definitely overpriced. They run a decent daycare in terms of cleanliness but the greed factor is very high here. Expect to pay a premium for everything. I am still torn in terms of the education level they actually give to the kids because we are talking about small kids and putting high pressure on them at such an age causes major problems.
I wish the daycare would realize that money is not the only factor and come back to reality. There are other better options in my opinion. Its just a daycare though they try to make it out to be an academic school. Also please note about fake reviews because they seem to hire people to write nice things about them -- That's my opinion. Overall rating is 1/5 because they charge an arm and a leg for everything. Look elsewhere.

Hebrew Language Academy is a school that creates an environment full of opportunities for its students. My daughter passed  NYS Gifted and Talented test at 99th percentile. I went to tour several schools in district 22 that offered G&T classes. After detailed comparisons, I assigned my daughter to HLA. Being a charter school, they have to outperform the rest of the schools in the district. Their math and reading classes are differentiated in order to push better performing kids further and to pay all the necessary attention to the rest of the kids. They offer several additional educational programs, such as RazKids and Mathletics to challenge students even more. Unlike many other schools that struggle with funding and get their classes cut to a minimum, HLA offers physical education classes four times a week. All students get art, music, and even chess! On top of everything else, the kids are learning a second language from kindergarten. They do not just learn it by the textbooks, but they get to speak it, see it, sing it throughout the day, and so by the end of the first year, my daughter understood a friend who spoke Hebrew to her and replied appropriately. I believe the students get great academic foundation and get to develop as more versatile individuals.
I also appreciate the approachability of the school personnel, the teachers, the curriculum director, the principal. Ms. Laura Silver, the principal takes parental concerns seriously, and follows up on them.
I like that HLA has all these advantages, and I love that my 7-years old daughter is looking forward to school every day. She loves it, she feels loved in it, and I feel lucky that she goes there.

I had really  fantastic experience with this daycare. Both my kids were there and their teachers were Lisa and Olga. I was lucky mom as these 2 teachers really care about children in their group and teach them alot, I wish they could be a teachers in BigApple Academy when my children were there.

Our nanny Alla (ph# 917-562-4967) is looking for babysitting job in Brooklyn (not live-in). She was with us since 2000 till 2010 (full time) and then till October 2012 she became our part-time nanny as our daughter is 13yo now and son is 10yo. Our family wish we can keep Alla with us but she needs at least 30 hours per week and it is understandable. All I can tell that she is great babysitter and nanny. She took care of our daughter since she was 11 mo for over 12 years and son from his 3rd day, as soon we came from the hospital. For that many years Alla became our family member and I want to help her to find job.

MZIA. M. She is 49 yrs old. From Georgia. We had her for close to a year as a live in nanny, she leaves every 5-6 months back home to Georgia for weeks and last time left for a month. I had to hire temps and not go to work because she left for a month. On Sunday night after her day off, without a word packed up her bags and just left. Knowing that my husband and I go to work and she has a responsibility of watching my one year old and my other daughter just started K and needed to be picked up from school. Without any warning on Sunday night, not even an hour, packed up all her stuff while we weren't home and left. We always treated her like part of the family and were really great to her, for her to do this to us is insane. I cant believe people like this exist.
Has a major issue with cleaning as well. Never asked for anything othern then a light cleaning up dusting and mopping floors always commented and said with her occupation back home she didn't come to clean after anybody...Wasn't pleasant to hear but we dealt with it.

Masha/Maryia 917-436-9607, said she's from Belarus, tall with short red hair. Hired her part time. She worked for us for about 3 months. Then on a Thursday, we worked out the details that she would move in with us in 2 months, once we moved into our new house, decided pay for when that happens, and increased her # of days with us until then to full time. On top of that, she knew that Tuesday was my graduation and no one would be available to stay with the baby since my family was going to that as well. Called me that Sunday, 3 days after we agreed on permanent arrangements, stated she will not return, no notice, nothing. We were very good to her. Gave her bags and bags of clothes to send to her daughter, found her another job on the days she wasn't with us, asked her to do bare minimum. She bad mouthed her previous employers constantly. Told me every last detail about the other family she started working with, that we found for her! Including how she looked in their drawers to satisfy her curiosity about some pictures she saw. Was extremely loud and obnoxious. Then after she quit, was bad mouthing us to that same family. Which of course got back to us because we're the ones who got her that job! Very unreliable, nosy, and will spread all your personal details to anyone who will listen. Looking back, she was very short with the baby the last week or so, and I highly regret that I did not yet have cameras in the house then.

I would love to recommend UMKA Day Care. My husband and I are proud to give our recommendation to any parents who are seeking safe and loving caregivers such as Svetlana Sumzina and Yekaterina. When I met with Svetlana to discuss her daycare schedule and view the facility, I was extremely impressed. The schedule was one in which children would have a day full of fun and learing experience at the same time. There are play times, art projects, singing time, dancing time, nap time and of course learning time. The home-made food listed is nutritious and well balanced and the most importantly, it is freshly made by Yekaterina every day. The facility itself is devoted to learning enhancement of the children. There are shapes on the walls, fun characters, plenty of toys and childproof areas for children to play.
My son Samuel has been attending UMKA Day Care since he was 18 months old. In the short time he has been there, he learned so much. By 2 years old, Samuel was participating in a show program that was directed by Svetlana. He was wearing a costume that was provided by Svetlana and had his little part in a play. It felt great to see my 2 year old being able to actually participate so openly in a show and not be afraid of doing so. This could only happen with the help and the tremendous effort of a professional teacher such as Svetlana who dedicates her knowledge, love and patience to children. Both Svetlana and Yekaterina are excellent teachers and excellent daycare providers who treat the children with the utmost of love and respect.
It has been almost 2 years since my son has been going to UMKA Day Care. He has learned so much from Svetlana and Yekaterina. Samuel is friendly, bright, outgoing, and and an active kid who knew the alphabet, shapes, colors, and multiple poems by the time he was 2 and I owe this all to Svetlana and Yekaterina. They truly provide care that is from the heart and with their deepest sincereity. I would highly recomend UMKA Day Care to any parent for their child.

Rita. Armenian but from Lvov where she lived with her husband. . About mid forties, maroon hair. Likes to wear leopard prints. She quit while my husband and I were on vacation and my parents were helping with our kids. This is after several months of working for us. She told my mother that she was treated when she was younger for mental problems which caused her to have hysterics when she was surprised. She did not even call me and just told them on Friday evening that she was leaving that night. Do not hire her. She is mentally unstable and does not even listen to you when speaking. If you say anything to her, she gets startled easily.

    Hi there.
I am just curious about this nanny. I had one that I fired 1 month after she started. Does she have a huge mole on her right cheek?
The description you give is identical to the on Gulya I had. I hired her 1 month before I was due to give birth. Her only responsibilities were to cook and clean. She could only make plov and some other dish (can't recall name of it). She was so dark and miserable. Always hid in her room. My 3.5 year old son, hated her. She made no effort to get him to like her. She didn't play with him and when she tried to... it was like someone was holding a gun to her head. Then she asked me for a 1 month advance (2 weeks after she started). I said hell no. Then when I was in the hospital giving birth, she told my husband "well, cooking and cleaning are over once your wife brings baby home". NOt sure where that came from, since we hired her with understanding that those were her duties. Needless to say, when I brought baby home, she had no idea how to even hold her. So I never once let her feed her or change her. I fired her 1 week after. Just curious if its same person.

Marina used to work for us several years ago. Seemed like a good fit for us in the beginning, very energetic, used to play a lot with our son, take him to the park, etc. However, after inspecting the cameras, I quickly learned that she lies about everything (even after we confronted her). Moreover, she brought her mother over without my approval while I was at work. She was taking videos of my house in my absense as well. Constantly late and just like above, didn't show up one day, only left a voicemail early Monday morning saying she found another job and is leaving us. Extremely rude, totally agree with the post above.
She also gave me her mother's phone number as a reference (which I found out only after she left). Both her and her mother lied to me about their past.

Doctor Leonid Sorkin has delivered my two beautiful little boys in a very efficient and professional manner. He is the most polite, knowledgeable and professional doctor I have had the pleasure in dealing with. He is always very thorough and has the expertise in making you feel comfortable in all situations. I would have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him in the future. It is very rare to find and be so very comfortable in the presence of a medical practitioner dealing with the very personal nature of his specialty. A fantastic doctor who should be commended in all aspects of his practice as OBGYN.

Pain is subjective in nature, to say that bris is painful compared to anesthesia injection can't be proved. Although I have heard of children aged 7 years old and up undergone a successful bris without anesthesia, this procedure cannot be skipped for infants. The intense pain felt by baies if the procedure be done without anesthesia can cause problems in their premature lungs (their breathing) and circulation of blood.

  • Leonid Sorkin is certainly a doctor who tells it as it is but I am very thankful for that as my first pregnancy was horrible with everything from very bad morning sickness to bed rest. My labor was even worse and if it wasn't for Leonid and an emergency C - section my son and I could have been in a lot of trouble. I had no hesitation going back to Dr Sorkin for my second pregnancy because he is very knowledgeable and will do everything in his power to ensure you take home a healthy baby. I cannot recommend this Doc highly enough.

Gyulmira Eshemvayeva from Kyrgyzia. While, she's technically not really black list material, I still would like to leave a reference for her, as she's probably out looking for a job. Few things. She lied about her age to the agent, turns out she's 30 instead of 35. We hired her straight OTB, first few days she was totally out if it, not social, not forthcoming, so I figured she just needs time to adjust. Never happend. She was as depressed as they come the entire time she was here, on top of which she turned out to be a religious fanatic. My neighbor mentioned to me after the fact about how sad my kids looked with her.
Her depressed state kept her from doing any socializing with the kids, so naturally my baby became very lukewarm, not to mention lost her appetite, and lost weight. Her cooking was probably a cause as well, this woman can NOT do anything around the house, cooking, cleaning, is def not her forte. As come to find put, she's never had to since she lived at home with her mom. ( and 5yo daughter)
Disappeared as soon as I got home, baby screaming or not, me still in my shoes, she was not helpful at all.
Lastly, 2 mos in she tells me she has to go to church during the hours when I'm at work, needless to say she did not work out, and I highly doubt that a job as a nanny suits her. She's not interested in kids or housework. I would def NOT hire her!!
But, perhaps the worst of all of this is the woman NEVER said please or thank you. She once said to me "vklyuchi mne computer". You make her food and when she doesn't say thank you I ask how was it? She says "nechevo, ya zhe syela".
    Ona ne riba, ne myaso.

Just started the daycare and very happy with it!!!! I am a very crazy mom and had to come in three times to this daycare before deciding to start. Every time I came in without an appointment kids were actively doing lessons or dance or music or they were outside and having sport activities they called :Olympics 2012 which looked amazing. Kids had metals and prizes at the end and looked like they were having so much fun!! Clean, food is AMAZING and my child didn't want to leave the first day. I was totally shocked and happily surprised!

  • Dr. Leonid Sorkin is the best obstetrician and gynecologist I have had in New York- he delivered my two babies. He is trustworthy and caring. Unfortunately I have had to experience a miscarriage - and everyone at his office was very professional and very kind. His office has worked with us on all occasions. I really appreciate the effectiveness and high quality care I have received with Dr. Leonid Sorkin.

  • I had Kamila Agayeva as my OBGYN (mainly because she's a female and affiliated with Lennox Hill), however, when it was time for me to deliver she was on vacation and I was actually delivered by her daughter aka business partner Dr. Hayama Brill! She is the best! I had a very complicated delivery, spent over 36 hours in labor on induction, had an emergency c/section with breech presentation and Dr. Brill was by my side all the way! I'd certainly work on their office staff, but both doctors are OK. I'd definitely highly recommend Dr. Brill

Went to check out this day care, as I am a very picky Mom, it wasen't recommended but wanted to see what people are talking about because heard of some saying that this is a good day care. Well not for me nor my child. It didnt look so clean, I compeletely disagree with another review someone posted that they made them take of their shoes, they did not ask me to take off my shoes :) It's like a joke. I saw the kids were all over the place no stricture of groups nor education.. Tv was on while the kids were playing..
Just not for us. Very unprofessional place.

Went to see this Day care..looked like a really nice day care, but a bit small rooms.. Otherwise I think it's a great place, they have a waiting list just like some other places.. But I choose the one that I thought was best for my child. When both waiting list came through :o)

Love, Love This Day care!! I am a very picky mom and saw a few day cares that was highly recommend it.. This day care compete all of my expectations for me and my child! Amazing learning system, teachers are great and very caring.. Fresh food made every day.. NO TV, which is very important.. I'm seeing a lot of changes in my child ever since she started this day care.. She loves going there everyday, which is sooo important to me and my husband.. Can't say one bad thing about this place.. Just LOVE IT!! The owner is so nice and always there to make sure everything is good and everyone is happy.. Highly, highly recommend this Day care, if you like warm, caring, educational environment for your child as well as safe, basically homy..

THIS LADY WORKED FOR ME AND WAS LAZY AS HELL, BUT WE KEPT HER, BECAUSE WE THOUGHT SHE WAS NICE. SHE ALWAYS SMILED AND SAID "
SAMOE DOBROE YTRO, SAMOJ DOBROJ NOCHI, ETC"... WHEN WE HIRED HER, SHE AGREED TO COOK, CLEAN AND TAKE CARE OF THE CHILDREN AND OUR 5 LB DOGGIE. IT ALL STARTED THE FIRST MONTH SHE REFUSED TO FEED OR WALK THE DOG. DOG ALMOST DIED. THEN WE TOOK AWAY THAT RESPONSIBILITY. THEN SHE REFUSED TO CLEAN MY SONS ROOM. THEN SHE STARTED GETTING OUT OF HER ROOM AT 10AM!!! WAS NOT LETTING MY BABY PEE FROM 7 AM -10 AM, KEPT HER IN BED AND SHE WAS CRYING BECAUSE SHE WENT TO TAKE HER SHOWER IN THE MORNING. THEN SHE MADE THE KID SLEEP FROM 12-5PM, SLEPT WITH HER, DID NOTHING AROUND THE HOUSE. FOOD ROTTED IN THE FRIDGE, SHE ONLY ATE FRESH, NEVER YESTERDAYS FOOD. KEPT FEEDING MY CHILDREN YESTERDAY FOOD. LOVES TO TALK ON THE PHONE TO HER SISTER OLGA WHO LIVES IN CLIFFSIDE PARK, NJ. WHEN CONFRONTED THAT SHE NEEDS TO ACTUALLY DO SOME WORK AROUND THE HOUSE, SHE PACKED HER THINGS, DIDN'T SAY A WORD (WAS PAID NIGHT BEFORE) AND TOOK OFF WHILE WE WERE AWAY!!! WITH HER SHE TOOK SOME OF MY JEWELRY AND MY CHILDRENS THINGS (SHE HAS 2 GRANDKIDS SAME AGE AS MY CHILDREN). THEN CALLED AND SAYED 'GOODBY' EVENTHOUGH, WE HAD AN AGREEMENT THAT SHE HAS TO GIVE US NOTICE IF SHE IS LEAVING US. SHE MADE MY LITTLE ONE SO NERVOUS THAT SHE STARTED STUTTERING ALL OF A SUDDEN. IF I ONLY KNEW THEN, WHAT I KNOW NOW, CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED. SHE HAS MEDIUM SHORT HAIR THAT SHE CURLS DAILY, BLACK, RATHER ON THE THIN SIDE. FACE IS OILY WITH PERMANENT MAKEUP AROUND BROWS AND MOUTH. HAS NO EYELASHES AND HAS A BAD BREATH.

Be aware of "Agent Sveta"! I am not sure if she is with agency "Nyanya" or someone else. That was she who started rumors about Alexandra Boyko (Lesya) - which a 100% lie. A friend of mine has known this nanny from her very first day in the US. I know 2 families where Lesya used to work - she is honest and hardworking person. What Sveta typically does - she offers a nanny to a family and when hearing the nanny was already recommended by someone else, she immediately says something like "do you know she has drinking problem?" or "the woman is not right in her head"... or she tells similar bad things about the other agent... she has done that many times, I heard different stories coming from Sveta but the one mentioned above is the winner, of course... DO NOT BELIEVE HER! DO NOT DEAL WITH HER!

  • I gave birth 1 month ago with Dr. Sorkin. I had such a great experience. My pregnancy went very smooth. I was very nervous about getting thenepidural. My best friend got one and constantly complains of back pain. Dr. Sorkin explained the pros and cons. At 6cms I couldn't hold off so I got the epidural. Dr. Sorkin held my hand through then whole experience. He was caring and definitely put me at ease. I delivered my son 4 hours later. I had a great experience. No cutting. No tearing. Dr. Sorkin is the best.

  • I had a terrible experience with Dr. shuster. I never waited less than 1.5 hours for an office visit. Being pregnant at the time, the waiting was difficult. To top it all off he almost missed my deliver. Than Shuster CUT ME SO BAD that I couldn't walk right for 2 weeks. LADIES STAY AWAY. There are much better doctors out there.

  • I love Dr. Sorkin. He is knowledgeable, caring and attentive. Both my mother and aunt go to him as well. He delivered both my kids. He also diagnosed my mom with a cancerous polyp after another doctor missed the diagnosis. There can be a wait. BUT, I would rather wait and get great care than go to some other doctor and have him misdiagnose me.

I am a parent of two. My oldest graduated from Mommy Daycare on Avenue Z in 2009, and my younger daughter is currently enrolled at the center. I agree wholeheartedly with the positive comments. As for the negative comment, I suspect they may have the location confused, as the center on Avenue Z actively promotes its after-school program (so, I don't think they would keep it a secret). Apparently, there is another center doing business as Mommy Daycare. That center is in Bensonhurst and, as far as I know, has no affiliation with the center on Avenue Z. I only discovered this fact when I asked a friend (unfamiliar with the area) to Google the address in order to pick up my daughter. Perhaps this may help clarify the two diametrically opposed reviews.

I think Umka Day Care has to be one of the best day cares in NY. I think Sveta and Katya do an excellent job with the children; I don't know exactly what goes on behind those doors, but what ever she is doing, keep doing it! I am basing my facts on my 3 boys who attended Umka Day Care and who are now in the 1st and 3rd grades in the gifted&talented program. There was not one day that my kids didn't come home happy. My friends and family are amazed to see how well my kids are doing, and they were shocked that they could read, write, do math, and were so well behaved for their age. All of this comes from Sveta. I hear from many Russian parents from the Russian community that they think extremely highly of her, and I as an American think the same exact way of Umka. Umka is DEFINITELY a model of all the other day cares.

My son has been going to Umka for two years. A lot what was said about the owner/teacher, Sveta, is right. However, I did not enroll my kid there because I liked her personality. From the first time I met with her I knew she was stubborn and authoritative. I liked the way she teaches kids and what she teaches them and that's why I enrolled my son there.

In the past year she did seem preoccupied with her personal problems. But I didn't really care. What I really cared about is the RESULT. I am happy to say that with Sveta's teaching my son got into a G&T program as well as every kid from her daycare. Everyone who is "graduating" this year passed G&T with flying colors. That's impressive. I don't know any other daycare that offers this in terms of their results.

She did close the daycare for a day to clean when one of the kids was sick with pink eye. I'd rather her do that than have my kid go there while the virus is fresh and alive.

Their food is homemade and it is great. My son raves about it.

Overall, I would recommend this daycare for a parent who is interested in giving their kid a good solid education start. I would not recommend it to someone to who cannot filter the nagginess.

Eleonora Mjavanadze, 62 yo but claims she is 55 yo, from Tbilisi, Georgia. She will deny that she has a hearing problem. On the interview, she will lip read and sound ok and nice. In reality, she has sensorineural hearing loss, speaks very loud, and can't hear anything. She is a big liar, makes up stuff about family members once she is in the family and always tries to sound like she is the best one. She will agree on one salary with you but at the end of the week when you pay her, she starts bargaining with you. She is very hard to get rid off; didn't want to leave our house until I almost threated to call the police. Also, she places ads in newspapers to meet a husband and her cell phone constantly rings.

This was my first experience with  a daycare as a parent.
We absolutely love Promise world  daycare. During that adjustment period the teachers were very caring and understanding. We have been extremely happy with the
teachers and the program. The teachers are very warm and caring and have really
made an effort to get to know the kids. The children are busy, happy,
engaged with all kinds of games and creative activities including  music and
    dancing.
I call once a day and speak to them  and everyone is pleasant and
they're always happy to share  fun stories if something happens during the day.

They keep a very clean and welcoming environment. They have a nice outside play
area. I  have nothing but good things to say about it. I completely trust
them and will send my younger daughter  later this year. I would highly recommend
    it.

WHEN DID YOU EVER SEE THEM WATCH TV UNLESS DURING THE EVENING PICK UP TIME WHEN THE WEATHER IS BAD??? I COME IN AS A SPEECH THERAPIST AND OUT OF SO MANY DAYCARES THAT I KNOW OF, THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT NEVER HAVE TIME TO WATCH TV.

I LOVE THIS DAYCARE AND THE TEACHERS ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!  Below person said something about TV, but they only watch it in the evening during pick up time when the weather is bad outside.  I know it because of my different work schedule I bring my daughter in at different time and they are always on the schedule which they provided me with when I signed up.  My daughter gets so tired at the end of the day because of their many activities that honestly I am so happy with.  She comes home telling so many different stories, songs, and poems that I am in shock of because every week it's something new.  The food is amazing and the place is spotless.  LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU!!!!!

Mariya (goes by Masha)from Ukraine. Mid 50s, tall with short, curly red hair. Had her for about 4 months. She did the BARE MINIMUM. After a couple of weeks asked for a raise. We told her no, she just started and this is the amount she agreed to work for. Moped constantly. I'd get home at 7, by 7:02 she was downstairs in room not to be seen again. Kids hated her. Baby didn't like her. Caught her a few times force feeding the baby when it was obvious she didn't want to eat - she tells "no, she's just playing". She's clueless how to deal with kids. Was planning to let her go, but my dad got into the hospital and I got too busy to look for a new one. This past Friday I ask her if she can leave late so I can go to the hospital, she said no. I asked a friend of mine to come and watch my kids instead. She never came back. No notice, no warning, nothing even knowing my situation.

Shahista from Tashkent. Late 60s, goes by "Shura" all gold front teeth. Couldn't figure out at first if she was deaf or just uncooperative, turned out she's both. Completely clueless about childcare, completely useless around the house and answers with "che?" when you ask her something then just nods like a mute. Anyway, one morning almost a week into the job, she tells me she's not feeling well, wants to go home NOW and that she decided that working with children is not what she wants to do.
Gets paid for her services and starts negotiating that it's not enough, and she never asked for the job in the first place, something about her sister making her do it.

Umka- that was a first daycare my son went to back in 2007. Owner is very accurately described previously. Also, had a few times that i was already in the car ready to leave at 7:35 in the morning and get a phone call that owner and her mom are sick and day care is closed today and tomorrow. What am i supposed to do??? Also, some on got sick in afternoon , she closed day care next day for disinfection. Yes she can teach and take care of kids , if she is in the mood. Very often occupied with numerous personal problems and talks about it with parents. I am sorry i have my own and really not very interested to hear about hers. At the same time, food is home made as we do it at home and hours are very continent as well.

Umka Day Care, Inc is a great place for kids.  My daughter started when she was 3 and went there for 2 years.  She is happy to go to day care every day and even when we went on vacation she said that she misses daycare, kids at day care and the teacher – Sveta.   Sveta is a great, professional teacher.  She is able to create an atmosphere of curiosity and love for learning at the daycare.  Children receive a wonderful education, they learn Math, English, Music and Dance.  They prepare magical performances for which children learn a lot of poems and songs.  Also, Umka Daycare helps prepare children for gifted and talented test.  My daughter took the test this year and I am very happy to say that Sveta prepared her well.

I have 5 years old son, he started going to Umka Day Care since he was 2.5 years old. I am very pleased the way they treat him there. Sveta is an amazing teacher. Every morning my son is happy to go there. He knows alphabet, he knows how to count, he knows a lot of poems, songs.....etc. I am so happy because my son passed the test Gifted and Talented and I didn't' have to take him to the tutor, because Sveta did all job! The food there is excellent, my son tells me that I have to cook the same food he eats there. I would highly recommend to bring your child there.

  • I love Mazel. My son is in prenursery class and we couldn’t be happier with our choice of a day care. The teachers are amazing. They are so devoted and truly care about my child’s development and growth.  I also love the fact that they encourage parents to get involved.  Highly recommend it!!

Ivetta, Armenian, says she is 60 years old but her passport says that she is 70 years old-(she claims she changed her age on her passport so it would be easier for her to come to America). She is medium height with short gray hair.

She started work Monday night and as I'm walking out the door for work on Friday she informs me that today is her last day and she's leaving tomorrow. We come home from work and she's not home with our son. I start calling her and she doesnt answer. I go to the park while calling her phone nonstop and a lady answers telling me that she found my nanny's phone in the park. Im jogging all over my neighborhood seven months pregnant and she finally shows up after 8 pm w no explanation. I grabbed my son and went to my parent's while my husband told her to leave bc I couldn't stand to look at her. My husband tells her that she can leave today since she is no longer our employee and offers to pay her for the four days she worked. She refused and said she was entitled to the full weekly bc we made her a slave by asking her to wash the floor and we starved her bc we did not have bread in the house-(I had told her on Monday that it's Passover). She calls the cops on my husband bc he refused to give her the full pay. The cops show up and my husband shows them the money he wants to give her and she starts preaching to the cops that she is entitled to more. The cops tell her she's out of luck and made her leave my house and escorted her off my property bc she was trespassing. My father came and offered to drive her to Brooklyn and she told him to go f himself. She stood in the middle of our street calling random ppl for over two hours until my neighbors called the cops on her bc she was loitering. After a three hour standoff she finally left. Needless to say don't hire her

GALYA who is Tatarka. Her name in the passport is Gulsirin Galimgareyevna, DOB: Sept 04, 1956. She is medium height and medium to thin build. She lives in Brooklyn with her daughter Albina.
The woman is a pathological liar who comes off as trustworthy woman with high principals, but in reality it is all an act. She used to keep my son confined in the bassinet, crying hysterically, so she can get some housework done and leave earlier. She took him shopping with her when she was supposed to be taking him to the park. When she did go to the park with him, she used to keep him in the stroller so she can seat on the bench and relax. She is very sly and is a very good actress.

I have been to many daycares and I am very picky!!! A 2 Z is the cleanest and nicest daycare with the best program for children ages 2-6. When I came in to see it, they made me take off my shoes before entering the classrooms unlike other daycares. The food is very healthy and is made fresh everyday. The program is very advanced and hands on. My child tells me things about them making project about watching the butterflies lifecycle and them planting the seeds and watch the flowers grow. I mean WOW!!! Never in my life did I think my 3 year old can learn so many things!!!

    Thank You A 2 Z!

  • I so disagree about the rules and their policy. They are very strict about who picks them up because they wouldn't give my child to my sister in law even though my child new her. I got a phone call from the owner and asked me if she can give my child to the person who she didn't know. I had to add in her name to the list of people who I allow to pick up my child!!!! Before giving my child to me the teacher always checks the pampers in front if me to make sure they are not full. I pick her up always clean with beautifully done hair, happy and she's thrilled to go to daycare in the morning. I'm also happy about their education and their food. The owners are very professional and are always there to answer my questions or concerns. I'm also happy to experience their sick policy. They really work with parents by making sure that sick children are not allowed back to day care until given a doctors permission. I can go on and on. Just visit them and you will see for yourself!!!!!

Nanny Dora lives around X and Voorhies from ukraine in her 60's, had her for a little over 2 years, with excellent pay. One day decided to put a camera since by daughter became agressive and would hit others Saw that she was hitting as well as cursing at my daughter, would put her in the corner for over 1 hour. She was fired the next day. I later saw her taking care of boy in Bambi, i tried to find out who the parents were to inform them but had no luck.

DO NOT LET HER IN TO YOUR HOME!
She really pulled an act during the interview. She was smiling and agreed to everything. Was depressed and upset most of the time. Managed to have everything her way. Claimed she misunderstood or didn't hear what we agreed to or we just didn't tell her. She simply lied all the time. Made another excuse why she needed money earlier than we agreed to, once we paid her ahead of time she was never seen again. When I called her the next morning half an hour after she was supposed to show, she was asleep and claimed my home and all the Jewishness made her so sick. I had a work project due and other deadlines. This and time line and when we needed her and how we need a heads up if she quits was all discussed at the 1st interview. DO NOT HIRE HER!

Galina Kaminskaya (a US citizen) - in her 50s from Kazahstan. She worked for us for nearly 3 months in 2009. She has some psychiatric disorder - constantly depressed, almost always lied to us on every detail I asked her (when the baby ate, how much, etc). She didn't know how to feed him for couple of first weeks - as a result the baby started waking up more for food during the night. After my explanations she got upset all the time and told me that she receives "postoiannie zamechania" even though I complimented her efforts a lot. Even though she tried hard to interact a lot with the baby, she showed her attitude that she knew better all the time. Always was trying to do her own way, couldn't accept normally my comments/suggestions. Once she gave my 10 month old son a big piece of carrot while he was rolling in his walker and she was busy cooking. He started choking on it. Luckily she saved him that day. She was also leaving the baby for hours near the house sleeping in the stroller while she was cooking in the house. She was over-reacting to my comments for the baby to start sleeping in his crib though she basically re-trained him. Before we hired her he used to fall asleep on his own in the crib and she started sitting next to him. Then there was a period of time that she couldn't hear him crying and started taking long walks with him in the stroller. It was her only way out for him to fall asleep. Once it started to be cold enough for him to sleep for 2-3 hours outside, he got sick and after he recovered she started doing the same thing again. Once I needed to work from home and noticed that my son got sick again so I asked her politely not to walk outside with him that day and I put my son to sleep for his morning nap myself. Once I went down the stairs I noticed a note from her that she couldn't take it anymore. She left us without a notice even though she knew that on that day my husband and I wanted to go to an opera in the evening and we had no one to watch the baby. Then on the same day she called us a few times between at 12am-1am and sounded completely drunk on the phone. My husband had to tell her that she should stop calling us otherwise we would've reported it to the police.

My name is Oguldzhakhan (Olya) Beshimova and I am from Turkmenistan. I came to the USA from Turkey.
I accidentally found out that there was false information published about me on the site called "Russian Parents", which states that I, while walking the child whose nanny I was, mistreated the child and made him cry.
I like to say at once that this is misinformation and it is probably very beneficial for someone to spoil my reputation and slander me. And the prove of that is the fact that it was not written by the child's parents who I worked for and from whom I never once received any complaints, but by a person who doesn't even know me and made an accusation based on her babysitter's words, who happened to be not too far from me on that particular day and could have observed what was happening. I am a firm believer in God, therefore I surrender the sin of the person who slandered me to God's judgment. Why am I calling it a sin? Because in the 9th commandment it states: "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" (Exodus 20:16)
The best recommendation on my behalf would be the fact that there are cameras installed in the house where I work, and not once had I received any type any complaints or parents' discontent about the way I took care of and raised their child. By profession I am a primary school teacher. This is why I was not only a babysitter and watched the child until parents would come home, but along with that I utilized all my knowledge and teaching experience in order to help the little one I took care of to develop properly in accordance with his age, and to take care of his physical health.
Because of health reasons I am not able to hear with one ear, therefore I speak a little louder than normal. One can also hear strict notes in my voice, necessary for the child to be able to distinguish between "good" and "bad", and this is what the science of pedagogy teaches. My employers knew about it and agreed with it. In the beginning I discussed with them all the methods of child's care and education. I love children and this is why I chose to be a teacher. I am not some random babysitter who is there just to get a paycheck and who is careless about the 3 year old child who still wets himself instead of asking to go to the bathroom. I will never, under any circumstance, allow myself to hurt a little child I'm working with. I raised two children who I am very proud of. I never hit my own children and would never allow myself to hit a child that was entrusted to me. I find it disgusting. I first and foremost use a method of easy to understand explanation, and sometimes I have to explain the same thing several times so that the child can understand. In order for the child to get a good upbringing and develop in accordance with his or her age, I try to pay attention to everything. The child I am talking about always listened to me and loved me, he would tell me "I love you, Olya", and I would respond in the same way. I think this would be the highest recommendation of me and praise of my work. After all, truth comes out of mouth of babes! And I wasn't the one who made that up. We had a lot of respect for each other, he never cried when his parents left for work. At nights he gladly took baths with my assistance. If he woke up in the middle of the night, he always called for me. However, children can be unpredictable when growing up. I tried to do everything on my part to prevent him from developing wrong habits, and always in every circumstance explained to him how he was suppose to behave so that the expectation of the parents, who entrusted me with their child's health and development, were met. His mother supported me in my efforts to teach the child to ask to use a bathroom instead of peeing in his diaper. We always told him: "When you pee in the diaper it begins to smell, you shouldn't do that." He agreed with us and we continued to work with him.
Once we were walking in a park. It was on March 7. The child was playing but I began to notice that he was forgetting to ask to go to the bathroom, and I decided to remind him about it. I kneeled next to him and asked him if he wanted to pee. He began to scream as if telling me to leave him alone. But I insisted and asked him to let me check his diaper to see whether or not it was wet. After I was convinced that the diaper was wet I told David "You peed a little in to your diaper, it will soon begin to smell. Let me take you to pee by the tree before your diaper starts to smell." He began to cry. He has a habit of screaming and crying. He does that if you try to interfere with what he's doing, or not paying attention to him. The weather was beautiful that day, 65 degrees, and child's mother, after finding out that the weather was going to be nice, asked me to take him out for a walk. David was dressed very warm even though some of the children were dressed lightly that day. It was very lively and fun from the voices of all the kids playing at the playground by the waterfront with their babysitters.
During our walk I received an unexpected phone call and I began to talk. The child doesn't like when I talk on the phone, he gets jealous and begins to scream. I asked what he would like to do, and he said that he wanted to go on the swing. I interrupted my phone conversation and sat him down on the swing. I began to swing him back and forth while continuing to talk on the phone. He began to cry again despite the fact that I was swinging him. I asked him again what he wanted me to do. He asked me to push the swing harder (he likes that). I began to push the swing harder. I stopped talking on the phone. He began to cry again and now he wanted to get off the swing. It is not easy to get him off the swing: he is not able to help me get him off and his boots get stuck inside the swing. I removed his boots first, then took him off the swing, then put his boots back on. I asked him why he was screaming again. It turned out he wanted Sara's, the girl who was with us at the playground, snack. I didn't allow him to have the snack because his hands were dirty (he knows that his hands have germs when they are not washed). I told him "Let's go home and wash our hands and then I will give you a snack". I sat him down on the bench so that he could calm down and rest a little. Shortly after we decided to go home because he wanted to eat and nap.
That day my friend, Tanya Kapalova, was with me at the playground with a little girl named Sara who she babysat. There was no one close to me, all the parents were far away from me and couldn't possibly hear my conversation with the boy. And the fact that he screams, we are all used to it and know that with time he will stop doing it.
In the evening of that same day, my friend Tanya called me and told me that there was a woman at the park who was staring at me. She was watching me, and wrote a comment about me on the internet, and stated that her employer wanted to tell mine about it. But I didn't understand how this strange woman knew my name and where I came from. I didn't speak to anyone except my friend while we were at the park.
God is the judge to the person who wrote this slander about me. The parents who entrust their babysitters with their children must first pay attention to whether or not their children are sucking their fingers at 3 years old, whether or not they continue to pee in their diapers, and whether or not their children are capable of interacting with other kids, in other words socially adapted. I heard a babysitter telling a child who was sucking his finger "Look at this mug" and then allowed everyone around to laugh at the child. I am a witness to how a child who was taken for a walk sat in the stroller for hours; she was strolled around and not once talked to. To my comments such babysitter would answer "it's not my job" or "let the mother raise the child". Such babysitter can say right in front of the child something like "She is so shameless, always poops in her diaper", and when I tried to give advice on how to prevent that, they would say "but she's dumb. I've tried everything!"
It is possible that one of the babysitters was offended by the remark I made about raising the children she was entrusted with. Since I started working, David had learned 10 different poems by the time he was 2 years old. He knows colors and songs, he can tell tales. I try to do my job conscientiously and do more than is expected from me. I want the little boy who I was entrusted with to make his parents happy with his normal development. But for some reason, strangers have the audacity to judge someone without knowing anything about that person.
I wrote this letter to, first and foremost, tell the real truth about what really happened that day at the park, and secondly to defend my dignity! From now on, no matter what anyone says about me, I will not stoop down to trying to justify myself. First and the most important authority, where one can ask about me and receive a recommendation on my behalf, is the child's parents who I worked for. They would never say a lie. They are worthy and respectable people.
At the end I would like to add that if you want to entrust your children to a reliable babysitter, who will not only tell your children "No" to everything that is not allowed, but will talk to them, play with them, and do everything possible to help the children form proper skills and habits, help reveal their natural abilities and talents necessary for their harmonious and successful development, you can contact me and you will personally learn that I am the babysitter you can trust your child with!
With sincere respect and well wishes.

I am very happy that we took our child out of this day care. I personally can't call this place a day care. My child always came home dirty with a huge diaper rush or full of pee in a diaper and always hated to go in the mornings.  Teachers never cared and never pay attention to the kids. The owner is un professional and needs to learn how to run a day care first before opening up one. There are no specific policies, no security (kids can be picked up by anyone as long as they are recognized as relatives by a child). Not a good exprience. Very unhappy parents..

This day care is a wonderful place. Best decision I ever made! My son loved his teacher,  who is very nice, kind, friendly and the most important caring person. My son attended  it for 3 years and everyday he went there happily and came home happy.  Pre-K is excellent..  He learn so much from the teachers.  The staff is very responsible, affectionate and takes very good care of the kids. I felt very safe leaving my child in their care. The owner is very much  involved about providing high quality education and take good care for the children. Their teaching philosophy and curriculum is great.. I highly recomend this day care..

Our daughter goes there, she is 3. She loves it. The teacher loves the kids and works a lot with them - math, reading, some english, lots of performances, dance, even homeworks for older kids. The food is good. The teacher may be a little bossy - we can tell that based on our daughter's behavior - occasionally she starts organizing everybody, requiring everybody to follow her instructions. She can actually lead a 30 minute exercise class, describing in detail what to do with your hands, feet, how to move, etc. Which says that they have pretty strict routine there.  The parents are not allowed to watch kids during the classes, only attend performances. They are full for now - 14 kids, its maximum, but we can refer someone in the fall, because they dont accept people from the street and we get 1 month of tuition off.

He is very popular within the Brooklyn Russian community. He uses anesthetics to minimize the baby's discomfort, and is by far the most amazing mohel ever. He even returned the next day to our home to personally remove the bandages and to check the healing. He has many raving reviews online (NYU Hospital Chair and New York Magazine) and we couldn't have been happier.

My son attended Pre-K at JCH. Their program has the free UPK program, so it is not as expensive as the private per-school's out there. Their day is very customizable and can be broken up into various times for convenience of the parents to drop them off earlier or pick them up later. We had an amazing experience at JCH last year. I love the fact that the kids get to go swimming twice a week. They do gymnastics every day. They even have a huge rock climbing wall in the gym. It's so much fun for the kids. On sunny days the kids go out to play at their rooftop play ground, which is shaped like Noah's Ark. They also go on numerous trips throughout the year: to Green meadow farm, Puppet theater, Aquarium, etc. One really great thing for my son was that although the program is run "American style," most of the staff can speak Russian. This was important for us, because my son did not speak a word of English before coming to JCH. It was comforting to know that they were able to understand him when he needed something. Needless to say, he learned to speak English fairly quickly and was always coming home telling us about the interesting activities that they have done and things that he had learned. Their projects were always displayed in the hallways for parents to see. Overall, I feel that JCH is a great Pre-K and will be sending my daughter there next year as well.

  • We have visited five different daycares in brooklyn area. Came to a2z unannounced, and met with the owner, Jane (Zhenya). Had a chance to see four groups which were all under spectacular supervision during arts and crafts activity and puppet theater show. Place is clean and fresh. Signed up and can't wait to start.

P.S. food was being cooked and smelled great while we were there in the office discussing things.

My daughter has been at Smiles since Sept in their 2 yr old group and we are very happy. The teachers are very nice and the space is bright and clean. 4 out of 5 days my daughter has a project to show me that she completed that day. The lessons vary and are age appropriate...alphabet, counting, shapes, colors, places to visit, etc. She's learned so much and is having fun at the same time. I highly recommend them.

Please note, this review is based on a visit and not on actual attendance:
Overall, I had a very positive impression of this location. I called the daycare to schedule a visit and was asked to come in during naptime so that the teacher would have an opportunity to suffiently answer all of my questions. I'm a bit of a clean freak so I noted that the place was spotless right away. The toddler room is downstairs. It's a very large and appears to be equipped with everything necessary to entertain and educate a 2 year old. I also noted that there was an appropriate student to teacher ratio 12:2 (I quickly counted the cots). I noticed a lot of age appropriate toys, centers, circle rug, reading corner, letters/numbers cutouts all of over the room. I am a teacher myself so educational activities are very important to me. Although I do realize that at 2 years old, it's important to develop social skills, learn how to follow instructions, etc. The main teacher was very pleasant, took her time and answered all the questions that I had. I was then escorted to meet with the owner, who was also very cordial, respectful and took her time explaining their policies and procedures. I was very impressed with their menu, which changes every week, and having peeked into the kitchen, I am sure that it's prepared in an appropriate manner.
There were some drawbacks: the toddler room downstairs seemed a bit dark to me but that could have been because shades were drawn, since the kids were sleeping. Also, the play area outside is rather small (although it is separate from the rest of the kids - toddlers have their own little nook in the back where they play).

Steps to Success, as noted above has a waiting list for Sept 2013. You have to put down a non-refundable deposit of $400 to guarantee a spot. From what I saw however, they are def the best (education, price, care, etc).

  • My older son started Shorefront when he was 3 years old (he is now 7). Now my little one goes there. The thing I like the most is the teachers, and overall structure and organization. The old director was strict and a little too religious for me--i felt instead of general education she stressed Jewish education more. The new director just started this year--and I like her more, i feel she has a fresh outlook, she is more in tune with what the children should be learning and she introduced some cool new things to the curriculum. They now have dance once a week, acting and other classes intermixed with the regular program. Also on nice days they go play on the rooftop playground which faces the ocean. There are 2 things I dont like, however. The food they provide is not very tasty and kids dont like it much. It is definitely not homemade. And the other thing is that they are in a middle of community center so there is a lot of activity, its not like a separate building. But i feel these "cons" i can deal with, I like that they have certified teachers on staff and a program and a schedule.

My daughter went to the learning experience for about 1 year. It looks pretty impressive once u come in but I was very disappointed with it. At the time when she was there we had to bring ou...r own lunch and I would provide a thermos with warm food. They wouldnt even take it out to the plate. My daughter was always hungry. When they started giving their own lunches they were horrible. Basically junk food from the cans. On multiple occasions I picked up my daughter with wet clothes in the winter so she was never changed after she had an accident. Education wise I can't say they r better then any other day care. The day care claims that they have cameras and u can get the footage at any time however when mydaughter fell down from a slide outside and broke her lip no one could explain how that happened and when asked for the video footage all of a sudden they werent allowed to show it because of the privacy issues. Totally not woth the high price they charge for it!

My son is there now and I love it. Education wise its very strong. In prek level they srarted doing skip counting which i know they did in BSI K. At the end of prek most/many read and at K kids read in 3 languages. Mostly, however, i love how they focus on each child to make sure he develops fully in all areas (i.e. respect, social).
Religious wise, i never felt pressure. They learn hebrew and say prayers through songs. They do parshas in preK, but besides learning torah its very good for reading comprehension. There are some othrodox children who usually leave at K, but most kids I felt in one of the two categories (keep some aspect of kosher (i.e. no pork) and maybe have friday night diner) or keep full kosher, shabat, but they still wear pants etc. Being on a less observant scale I never felt any pressure.

  • Several of my friends kids go there and love it. I saw their program and it was great. My kids don't go there because the hours don't work for me. I think they start at 9 and end early every Friday. They serve kosher so if ur kid is allergic to dairy on milk days u may have a hard time. Also one of the best parts is that they have day trips and monthly gathering for parents for free. Great for networking and becoming part of the school.
Some of my friends take their kids to Mazel and love it. It is not too religious. My friends are not religious at all and it is not forced upon them. I took my daughter to their sunday program and she loved it. If you are thinking about it...there is a wait list to get in.
here is some info from their fb page-- FAQ #1: What is the difference between a Jewish Day School and a Yeshiva?
As a Day School, Mazel is different than most Yeshivas in that both boys and girls attend classes together. In addition, as a Day School, it is open for all Jewish children regardless of their level of religious observance. You will not be asked what you observe at home, nor will your child be told that they “have to” bec...ome more religious. Every family is respected for their own level of involvement in Jewish life. No one is made to feel uncomfortable and everyone is free to choose their own path. Children learn that Jewish identity is important for all Jews but “different families observe in different ways”. Another major difference between our day school and other Yeshivas is that the general studies program takes up 60-70% of the day (compared to 50% in other schools).

  • Have my son and daughter there, absolutely love it. Had them in Juniors before Steps, no comparison, although it depends on how old your kid is. If we're talking under 2, maybe consider juniors or Beatrice before steps but by 3, definitely steps. As far as food and all the other things, everything is relative. In comparison to all the other day cares I saw in SI, I think they are the best.

  • My son went there for a year then went to pre-k in public school. He learned more in steps than in pre-k. The teachers were amazing , my son loved the food and I regret not keeping him there longer. My daughter goes there for camp and my so...n will go this summer. The staff and owners r very friendly and education is very important to them. The only reason they would reject anyone is due to space, otherwise they get 2 thumbs up

  • Both of my 2 children attended Bambi Ave T and Homecrest location. They accept children starting from 2.9 years old. Highly recommend as a mom and also as somebody providing speech therapy there every day. Clean place with good food, a lot of stimulation, quality toys, unbelievable concerts ( music teacher graduated conservatory). All teachers have formal education and teaching background.
As with every day care, you will get some different opinions. I would advise to come in and check for yourself. It is an open place where parents are welcome to come.

  • My son went to windmill. He loved it. But windmill is from 8.30 to 3.30 (although they now offer extended day for an additional fee) and is pricy. 11k a year without extended day. Montessori education however is awesome for little ones. But there are other things to consider: such as no lunch, shorter naps and cost

  • I would like to comment on ShorefrontY since my daughter has been attending its UPK full day program since September. I was also a bit weary of the new Director, and it seems like she had a lot to handle and a little confused at first. Now things have seemed to fall into place but I really don't know how they used to be with the old Director. All I know is my daughter really likes it. They have implemented additional programs for the UPK kids, they have 45min dance sessions on Mondays, Gym class on Wed. and I believe just recently they started a theater/drama group on Friday. My daughter only commented on the theater once last week, so I take it they just started it. Also, the director is really trying to get kids involved in G+T testing, and overall is very responsive to all concerns. There is one Russian and one American teacher for the UPK class so it made it easy for my daughter to transition since she didn't speak any English before going there. Although I am not too fond of the American teacher in my daughters class(I find her very rude to both adults and children), the Russian teacher is nice and I think the other teachers in other classes seem pretty nice.

Marina - 347-543-7348; She took care of my daughter for six months as a live-in nanny from the age of 2-2.5. Now my daughter is starting daycare. Marina is great with kids and my daughter adores her. She is also honest, reliable, responsible and genuinely a good person. She is looking for a live-out position in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

Cannot be happier. Love the curriculum, love the schedule. 7-6 for school, you can't find that anywhere, open on school breaks, amazing teachers, great food. Love the journals that keep parents informed on the regular basis.
    Parking is a nightmare.

My daughter went there for Summer Camp from Bragg St. and I was not impressed. It just seemed like a mess, kids watching TV all day. We kept asking the teachers to apply sun block on our daughter before they take them swimming and no one did it. Not even once.

My daughter went here from 21 months to 4 years old. Overall, it's a small family daycare with small size groups and the teacher that is in the baby group was really amazing. Very nurturing almost
Ike a babushka to all the kids. I was not thrilled with the teacher for the older groups upstairs......very Russian mentality and I felt that she did very little to prepare them for school. I am sooooo glad I made the decision to pull my daughter out for pre k and put her in a more structured environment in a bigger more experienced daycare. Overall, it's good for babies just starting daycare but do not recommend for older kids.

A wonderful babysitter is available in Bensonhurst area. She is a warm, caring woman who is sure to take incredible care of your little one. She has tons of experience working with small children in Russia and here (was a teacher in a premiere daycare in BK). Her name is Natalya Borovikova and you can PM her on Facebook.

an o'k day-care center, clean overall and they have been in business for a while with simingly good reputation, but the educational aspect is minimal and the attitude toward kids is somewhat rude.
example: on several occasions the diaper on a kid was not changed when I picked him up, so nobody bothered to check between 5pm-6pm?

My daughter is attending it now for pe k and it's amazing! The pre k teacher is wonderful. She is tough and demands respect but the kids love her and learn a lot. I cant comment on the younger groups as she only started this year but I think they provide great structure And I am sooooooo glad I let her experience the pre k program before she starts school as I think she is much better prepared. Overall, excellent for pre k!

So many good things to say about this daycare! We love the curriculum and the teachers. My son has been in a few different centers and we are so happy we finally found one that treats him as an individual and not a number. He loves coming to 'school' and continues to surprise us everyday with what he learned.  Excellent, heart felt, warm, nurturing environment where children thrive.  Unique holiday shows (utrenniki), educational trips.  We will definitely be staying on with their Pre-K program. Highly recommended!

I transferred my child from a different day care, in which he couldn't adjust for over a year, to Mazel. At Mazel he flourished. When we started Mazel I had no intention of keeping him past Pre-K, but now I cannot imagine him going to school anywhere else but Mazel. It's very warm environment that focuses on the whole child--his education (which is one of the top), social and emotional abilities. I don't know another school where the director not only knows the names of all children, but also their strengths and challenges.

Love this day care, it was really hard first sending my child to a day care when i was at home with him for 3yr,but Teachers and the staff here make me feel very comfortable leaving my child.. Teachers are very caring, thoughfull, I can't rave enough how much my child progressed staring from this day care and pre-K.. Very warm environment, home made food.. The owner Natasha is extremely nice and very accommodating.. I also love the fact that there is an English teacher in pre-k that is there everyday..

Absolutely amazing day care, my kids loved it from the beginning.. When I picked them up they couldn't wait till next day to go back.. Great teacher, education, very thoughtful, home made food, but a very big long wait list, I just got lucky...

At first you come to this day care and you think wow amazing clean, the owner Jane sounded nice and her mom is there who cooks.. Looked really nice.. Started going there to try, my kids after a month were crying did not want to go there, I asked them why what's wrong, I thought everything is fine for few weeks, they told me the teacher screams at me (my son) I don't like the food, they are very mean mommy) that was it. For me. With this day care.. Than I got what is going on and a few moms complained to me and actually took their kids out, so that's my story plus there was something else that I'm not going to talk about on here that I didn't like and saw..

  • My son has been attending Mazel for the last two years and he has learned so much since he started his education there.  He receives love and support from the teachers and the administration is warm and approachable.  I feel confident every day when I send my son to school that he is learning how to be a positive, contributing member of our community as well as gaining knowledge.  We love Mazel!

This school is a home away from home for my son (Kindergarden) who is in his 3rd year at Mazel.  We love the personalized attention and the great teachers.  The Mazel Parent Association is also  great at planning events for families to get to know each other.

I only can say this Dr. doesn't deserve a title Dr. as this person operates as a Business man! All he wants is to withdraw as much money from your insurance as much as possible. He completely doesn’t care about your child. Here is my story:

My son has tear duck in both eyes. We came to Dr. Rosenberg when my son was 7 month old. We had to wait almost 3 hours to just see him. At the time when Dr. came in to the room to see us, we were extremely pissed off, that it takes 3 hrs to be seen. Again my son was just 7 m old. So when we asked this Dr, why does it takes so long and why doesn't he give breaks to small children as mine, his reply was that everyone is treated in his office equally! So if you ask me its complete BS! So on the other note, he wasn't helpful at all and we had to leave the office because my son was already acting up as it was his time to eat.

Bottom line - DO NOT go to this Dr!
